Graduates of the 2019 Fountain Hills Leadership Academy have been hard at work preparing for one of Fountain Hills’ most enduring holiday traditions – the Live Poinsettia Tree Display.

Bill Muelhauser and Skip Ipema began the tradition in 1999, a festive event which is now operated under the auspices of the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association, aka Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association..

The live tree, currently on display on the Avenue of the Fountains, is comprised of more than 200 live poinsettia plants, each which has been purchased by members of the community. Two A-frame signs beside the tree display the names of those who purchased plants in memoriam or in honor of a significant someone in their lives.

The Live Poinsettia Tree is on display on the Avenue of the Fountains now until December 31.
