In honor of the Fountain turning 50, there will be a Fountain Photo Contest!
There are 4 categories to enter for the Fountain Photo Contest. The first category is for black and white photos of the Fountain. Second, is for color photos of the Fountain. Third, is for color photos of a Fountain Hills special event that include the Fountain. Finally, the fourth category is for anyone under the age of 18. They can use any of the 3 categories to enter.
There is one entry allowed per contestant. However, all photos must feature the Fountain in them. They also should not contain any recognizable faces. Similarly, no photo manipulation is allowed. Drone photos are allowed for the contest. However, the Town requires a permit to fly a drone anywhere in Fountain Park.
Each category will be judged by two volunteer photographers. These photographers often contribute to Arizona Highways magazine. There will be a prize winner for each category. There will also be a “Best of Show” prize winner.
Registration for this event is required. Forms are available on the Town’s website here. These forms must be emailed to email@example.com for entry. Registration opens Monday, September 14th at 8:00 am. It ends no later than Friday, October 16th at 8:00 pm. Only 100 photographs will be accepted for this contest. Must be a Fountain Hills resident in order to participate.
Although plans are not final, the Fountain at 50 Committee hopes to hold the exhibition at the Community Center. If approved, the show would be held from November 2-19th. However, they will hold the event virtually if the Community Center is closed.
If the Community Center is open, photographers should bring their photo to the Community Center Monday, November 2nd between 8:30 am – 1:00 pm. Members of the Fountain Hills Photography Club will hang these photos. Photographers can then pick up their photos after the event on Thursday, November 19th from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.
The winners of each category and “Best of Show” will be announced on Friday, November 13th. For more information on this contest visit the Town’s website here.
